Greyhound of the Week – Kraken

Posted on Posted in All Blogs, Greyhound Stuff

Greyhound name: Kraken

Why did you choose to adopt a greyhound? This was my first experience with greyhounds and I was very interested in adopting a greyhound! Then when we got close to being able to adopt we started going to local greyhound meets through Northern Sky Greyhounds and we fell in love with the breed.

How did you adopt your greyhound? Through Northern Sky Greyhound Adoption Association – a Canadian greyhound rescue company.

What makes you love your greyhound? Absolutely everything! We fell in love with her the day we met her at her foster home (actually, the first time we found out about her and saw her picture) and have loved her since. We love her zoomies around the yard, tiring her out on out long walks, and how playful and full of energy she is. Our favourite part of our day is coming home to our kraken!

Funny quirks that your greyhound has? How she sleeps on the couch in a way that looks like she’s going to fall off. Her love/hate relationship with her lamb chop toy. How annoyed she gets when we’re up past her bedtime (around 8pm). Her two bursts of energy every day: 530am and 530pm. And waking up every morning to get face in mine.

Anything else you’d like to share? Kraken is a two year old greyhound, her birthday is March 1st. We adopted her on April 25th. She is from Palm Beach, Florida and raced 7 times.  I guess her biggest quirk is that she likes to steal our socks and soccer jerseys after we play games.
